Every gardener should understand the following: if you plant a garden crop in the wrong place, the harvest will most likely be poor.
And neither regular watering, nor the use of good fertilizers, nor the fight against pests and diseases will help.
A simple example: planting potatoes in a bad place will result in tubers that are too small.
And that's the best case scenario. It's possible that the vegetables will simply rot.
How to avoid this? The answer is simple: do not plant potatoes where the garden crop may be in danger.
An expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told us which areas are in question.
In the shadows
Shaded areas are completely unsuitable for potatoes.
Nightshade needs sunlight. The more of it, the easier it will be to get a good harvest.
Growing nightshade in the shade of trees or buildings is fraught with very slow development of garden crops.
The yield will be low and the tubers will be too small.
In the lowlands
This popular garden crop cannot be grown in low-lying areas or flooded areas.
There the potatoes will collide and be left without oxygen: the tubers will simply rot.
