Recently, Russians have increasingly encountered problems when exchanging old-style dollars.
Financial expert Lazar Badalov explained why this happens.
The expert's statement is cited by Bankiros.ru.
What dollars are not accepted by banks
As Badalov explained, due to sanctions, Russian banks can no longer directly send currency to the US and Europe, so they have begun to check dollars more carefully.
Neither domestic nor foreign banks accept old, worn-out dollars, writes Bankiros.ru .
The situation is similar with the so-called white dollars (issued before 2009).
Since old-style banknotes are easier to counterfeit, exchanging them in other countries is becoming more difficult, the expert explained.
