The Belarusian Ministry of Economy expects to exceed the target for gross domestic product growth this year.
This was reported by the First Deputy Minister of Economy Andrey Kartun.
What the Ministry of Economy said about overfulfilling the GDP growth target
As Kartun explained in the BELTA project “Country Speaks”, the economy is assessed based on 5 indicators: GDP, inflation containment, population income, exports, investments.
According to the Deputy Minister, all these indicators are being successfully met. It is expected that the set tasks will be met for all indicators, except for export.
We think that we will exceed the GDP growth target that we set for ourselves – 3.8%, – stated the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economy.
He noted that the maximum contribution to GDP comes from agriculture, industry, trade, construction, services and consumer activity.
According to Kartun, thanks to the growth of the population’s income and low inflation, trade provides 25% of the contribution to GDP, and industry – 40%.
