The EDB told what will happen to the Belarusian economy in 2025

Experts from the Eurasian Development Bank have predicted the situation with the development of the Belarusian economy in 2025.

In their opinion, the growth rate of gross domestic product will continue to be recorded at an elevated level.

In particular, such a statement was made by the head of the Center for Country Analysis of the Directorate for Analytical Work of the EDB, Marina Sobolevskaya.

The EDB expects the Belarusian economy to grow by 4.3% in the outgoing year.

We forecast continued high growth rates next year. According to our estimates, Belarus' GDP will grow by 2.6% in 2025, the bank's representative was quoted as saying by the Belta agency.

Sobolevskaya cites the increase in export volumes to Russia, the growth of Belarusians’ incomes, and the expansion of investment as key growth drivers.

Regarding inflation, the EDB estimates that in 2024 it will be within six percent.

And next year, according to the forecast of the financial and credit institution, it may increase slightly – to 6.6%.

We expect that the National Bank of Belarus will maintain the refinancing rate at the current level of 9.5% per annum, the specialist said.
