Analysts from the Eurasian Development Bank note that lending growth in Belarus continues.

This is stated in their latest weekly review of the economic situation in the countries that are part of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The publication was made public on the official Telegram channel of the financial and credit institution.

According to experts, the loan portfolio of Belarusian banks increased by 0.8% in September after growing by 0.5% in August.

They report that the growth trend is driven primarily by the expansion of retail lending, accounting for over 75% of the growth in the loan portfolio.

Separately, the EDB drew attention to the improvement in the quality of the loan portfolio, explaining this by the growth in income of Belarusians and stable financial indicators of the corporate sector.

Experts specified: the share of non-performing loans in the portfolio of Belarusian banks decreased to 3% in September compared to 5% at the beginning of the year.
