The National Bank of Belarus has determined the list of systemically important financial and credit organizations for the next year.
This was done to minimize the risks of banks and non-bank credit and financial institutions that could affect the operation of the banking system.
The relevant information was released by the regulator’s press service .
It is noted that Belarusbank, Belagroprombank, Priorbank and Alfa-Bank are included in the 1st group of systemic importance.
The 2nd group includes Belgazprombank, Bank BelVEB, Sberbank, Belinvestbank, MTBank, VTB Bank (Belarus) and BNB-Bank.
Banks were classified as systemically important based on such indicators as the scale of their activities, their relationship with resident banks, their importance to the economy, and their relationship with non-residents.
Next year, banks that are defined as systemically important will have to comply with capital adequacy standards.
The boards of directors or supervisory boards of the said banks (from among their members and employees of the banks) are instructed to form a remuneration committee.
This structure must be headed by an independent director, the National Bank noted.
