Nikita Kondratyev, head of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects of the Ministry of Economic Development, spoke on this topic.

Answering journalists’ questions on the sidelines of the “Travel Hub. Travel!” forum, Kondratyev noted that it is not only Russian tourists who are refused acceptance of old money, including dollars, abroad.
The issue is not with the Russians, the situation is worldwide, said the representative of the Ministry of Economic Development.
According to him, this is due to banks’ attempts to protect themselves.
In order to have fresher banknotes in case of anything, the official explained.
