Next year, Belarus plans to allocate about 10 billion Belarusian rubles to pay off the national debt.
We are talking exclusively about the volume of repayment of the country's external borrowings.
Another five billion are funds that will go towards maintenance.
The head of the Belarusian Ministry of Finance, Yuri Seliverstov, made this statement on the Belarus 1 TV channel.
We will work to somehow refinance the government debt both on the domestic and foreign markets, he said.
The head of the department also noted that Minsk is currently attracting the necessary resources.
It is expected that approximately 300 million dollars will be attracted on the domestic market.
At the same time, Seliverstov drew attention to the fact that part of the state debt is the funds that were used to finance certain projects, for example, the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant.
He assured that these funds “will be returned to us from the real sector of the economy.”
In particular, at least $500 million in returns from previously implemented projects is expected, the minister specified.
And he added: now Belarus plans to carry out work on refinancing the state debt with Russia.
The planned figures for attracting funds under previously reached agreements are about 1 billion Belarusian rubles in equivalent, Seliverstov said.
