Analysts from the Eurasian Development Bank have noticed a decrease in inflation in Belarus.
They reported this in their traditional weekly review of the economic situation in the countries that are part of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The experts' report was published on the official EDB Telegram channel.
According to published figures, inflation in Belarus at the end of November of the outgoing year fell to 5.5% from 5.9% in October.
It is noted that inflation has decreased “across all key components of the consumer basket.”
According to experts, the current rate of price growth in the republic is at 6.7%, while in October the figure was 7.2%.
They cite the significant slowdown in price growth for seasonal vegetables and fruits as the reason for this – from 11% in October to 4.7% in November.
Inflation on non-food products also decreased – in November it was 3.7%, while in October it was 4.1%.
And in the area of paid services, a decrease in inflation was recorded – from 6% in October to 5.8% in November.
EDB analysts predict that by the end of this year, inflation in Belarus will be “close to the target.”
