Belarus ranked third among European countries in terms of projected gross domestic product growth in 2024.
This is evidenced by data from the International Monetary Fund visualized by the media company Visual Capitalist.
How much will the Belarusian economy grow in 2024
According to the infographic, the Belarusian economy will grow by 3.6% this year. Russia shared third place with Belarus.
Malta topped the rankings, with its economy largely focused on services (financial services, tourism). Malta's GDP growth this year will be 5%.
Serbia, which has gained momentum this year due to such service sectors as tourism, construction, trade and catering, took second place. Its economy will grow by 3.9%.
GDP growth in Poland and Lithuania will be 3% and 2.4%, respectively.
It is noted that European countries have recently faced significant problems, in particular, the decline of the euro against the dollar to its lowest level since 2022 and a reduction in business activity.
Despite these obstacles, some countries demonstrated sustainable economic growth in 2024, the article says.
