On October 12, the President of Belarus takes part in celebrations honoring farmers of the Gomel region.
For this purpose, Alexander Lukashenko arrived in the urban settlement of Korma in the Gomel region, where the festival "Dazhynki-2024" is taking place.
The President spoke about plans for the development of the Gomel region and agreements reached with the Rosneft company, BELTA reports.
Within the framework of the agreement reached with the Rosneft company, it is planned to study the subsoil of the Gomel region.
At the same time, the head of state noted that we are talking about wells that were drilled back in the days of the Soviet Union.
However, the potential oil fields were subsequently abandoned.
We agreed with the head of Rosneft that we will seriously "feel" the territory of the Gomel region. And we will definitely find oil there (in Soviet times, wells were drilled and abandoned), - said Alexander Lukashenko.
The proceeds from this will be used for the development of the Gomel region, the President of Belarus stated.
