In Belarus, new-style hundred-dollar bills are disappearing from currency exchange offices, ONT TV channel reports.
However, experts say there is no need to worry about this.
Why New $100 Bills Are Disappearing From Currency Exchange Offices
As reported on ONT, the rules for exchanging dollars in Belarus have not changed recently.
However, in Russia, some financial institutions changed the rules for accepting $100 bills. This was the most likely reason for the shortage.
As economic analyst Georgy Grits explained, the reason for the popularity of the new hundred-dollar bills is that they are better protected from counterfeiting.
According to BISI economic observer Alexey Avdonin, Belarus has its own currency market, and there is no point in transferring any fears to it.
The domestic market is fully provided. Most likely, these are isolated cases, information content, - the expert said.
He did not rule out that this information is being disseminated by destructive information platforms with the aim of creating artificial excitement on the currency market.
So that people start buying up dollars, withdrawing their deposits, and losing everything on this. We have seen this more than once, Avdonin noted.
