According to the results of the first half of 2024, the volume of Belarusian cargo exports through Russian seaports increased by 22.5%.
The head of the Administration of the President of Belarus Dmitry Krutoy announced this at a meeting of the High-Level Group of the Council of Ministers of the Union State.
In the first half of the year, the export of Belarusian cargo through Russian sea ports amounted to 7.3 million tons. This is plus 22.5% compared to the same period last year, Belta quotes the official as saying.
According to him, the ports in the northwest of the neighboring country are the most involved.
But there are also deliveries of domestic goods “along the Eastern Polygon, along the Northern Sea Route and along the North-South corridor,” Krutoy added.
He noted that since the first stage of the Rasht-Astara railway in Iran was recently put into operation, Minsk hopes that “the prospects of the North-South corridor will grow even more in a few years.”
Krutoy also thanked Russia for the support it provides to Belarus in this matter.
