According to the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus , as of July 1, the country's gross external debt amounted to $36.6 billion.
In the first half of 2024, it decreased by $135 million.
Relative to the gross domestic product, external debt decreased from 51.3% on January 1 to 50.5% on July 1.
As for net external debt (external liabilities minus gross external assets in the form of debt instruments), it decreased in the first half of the year from 13.1% to 12.3% of GDP.
