In Belarus, lending in national currency continues to grow.
Analysts from the Eurasian Development Bank have drawn attention to this trend in the republic’s economy.
The experts published the relevant information in the traditional weekly macroeconomic review of the EAEU member countries.
The report was published on the official Telegram channel of the financial institution.
According to data presented to the general public, the volume of ruble loans issued by banks in Belarus increased by 2.8% in July.
For comparison: the growth rate for this parameter a month earlier was recorded at 1.1%.
As for lending in the corporate segment of the country, the corresponding volume grew by 3% in July compared to 0.3% in June.
The volume of retail lending increased by 2.5%, while in June the figure was plus 2.1%.
Analysts point out that half of the volume of retail lending in July was consumer loans (plus 3.7%).
Since the beginning of this year, consumer loans in Belarus have grown by 21.6%.
The growth of loans and the increase in household incomes support high consumer activity, the EDB summed up.
