According to the results of the last month of summer 2024, Belarusian individuals sold an impressive amount of foreign currency.
Thus, the trend of mass sales of mainly dollars and euros continued.
According to the press service of the National Bank of the Republic, in August, our compatriots sold 218.9 million dollars more than they bought.
If the total volume of foreign currency purchased by Belarusians amounted to 949.7 million dollars, then the volume of foreign currency sold amounted to 1,168.6 million.
Overall, over the first 8 months of this year, citizens sold foreign currency (cash and non-cash) in an amount that exceeded its purchase by 879.9 million dollars.
As for organizations and companies, residents of Belarus, in August they became net buyers of foreign currency.
Thus, according to the regulator’s data, that month they purchased $166.3 million more than they sold.
The total volume of foreign currency purchased by legal entities in August amounted to 2.788 billion dollars, and sold – 2.622 billion.
Over 8 months, Belarusian companies purchased foreign currency worth $1.548 billion more than they sold.
