It is believed that drinking a glass of water with lemon on an empty stomach helps a person lose weight faster and improves digestion.
And this is the minimum of the benefits that this drink supposedly brings.
A number of its “adepts” claim that warm water with lemon not only burns calories, but also reduces the accumulation of toxins, strengthens the immune system and has a positive effect on the skin.

American scientists decided to figure out whether this is actually true or not.
Nutritionists have concluded that the popular drink is indeed beneficial when it comes to hydrating the body after sleep.
However, nothing will change if you drink ordinary water on an empty stomach.
There is no scientific evidence that warm water with lemon improves digestion.
And daily consumption of lemon containing vitamin C in “liquid form” does not in any way strengthen the body’s protective functions.
As for weight loss, scientists from the USA have come to the conclusion that weight will decrease faster if you replace other high-calorie drinks with water with lemon.
However, they were unable to prove that lemon water directly affects metabolism or fat burning.
The bottom line is that this drink is nothing more than regular water that helps keep your body hydrated.
It does not harm people in any way (unless there are contraindications to its use, of course), but, alas, it cannot boast of magical properties.
