First of all, you shouldn’t use sweets as a snack.
Alcohol already contains sugar, the specialist said.
According to her, alcohol combined with sweets sharply increases blood glucose levels, which is extremely harmful for those with excess weight, insulin resistance and diabetes.
For the same reason, it is not recommended to snack on fruit with alcoholic drinks.
Secondly, you cannot combine alcohol with foods high in salt.
As the doctor explained, this increases the load on the heart and kidneys and causes swelling.
It is especially dangerous for people with hypertension to snack on salty foods while drinking alcohol.
Lomova also advised to avoid spicy snacks and fried meat.
It is not recommended to mix different types of alcohol, the specialist added.
