Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, offered five original ideas for placing a bed – they will help out owners of small apartments who find themselves in a difficult situation.
Podium bed
If you build drawers or shelves into a podium bed, you will get not only a sleeping place, but also a storage system. This furniture can also help with zoning the space, visually separating the bedroom from other areas.
Bed-wardrobe
The ideal solution for small spaces is furniture that can transform. Pay attention to the bed-wardrobe: during the day you will have a spacious and neat room, and in the evening a comfortable sleeping place will appear in place of the wardrobe.
Loft bed in the hallway
You can even organize a sleeping place in the hallway. Those who value every centimeter of free space will certainly like the idea of getting a loft bed. Its main advantage is that under the bed you can arrange a work space, a dressing room or other rooms that usually do not have a place in the house.
Bed in a niche
If there is a niche in the room, then you can’t think of a better place for a bed. By covering the niche with curtains or a canopy, you will hide the sleeping place from prying eyes. Textile elements will also protect you from bright sunlight if the room is located on the sunny side.
Sofa bed
The easiest option is to buy a sofa bed. It saves space and replaces two pieces of furniture at once. Take note of this option if you often have guests and there is not enough space to accommodate them.
