You can do a fresh renovation and throw out grandma's furniture, but your apartment will still not become fashionable.
Why? The expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, sees the reason in anti-trends that add obsessive notes of mothballs to the interior.
1. One of these solutions is furniture placed along the walls. It's time to stop placing a corner sofa in the corner and armchairs symmetrically on both sides of the sofa.
Don't be afraid to place furniture in the center of the room, use it to create accents and divide the room into zones.
2. It's time to forget about classic ceramic tiles in toilets, showers and bathrooms.
Choose large-format panels made of stone, porcelain stoneware, wood or marble texture.
3. The next thing you need to give up is the pompous and pretentious design of window openings.
Thick classic curtains, roller and Roman blinds, as well as blinds in any of their variations look much more dignified. In addition, you can always refuse to use any ovals.
The main requirement that curtains must also meet is simplicity and practicality.
4. The typical “signs” of European-style renovations can also be considered a relic of the past – wallpaper with edging, relief plastic panels on the ceiling and plastic moldings on the walls.
5. Finally, remember that a modern interior is one that has no partitions, arches or niches. It should have as much free open space as possible.
Metal frames and plaster partitions are a thing of the past. Today, they are used only when there is no other choice.
