In the West, storage issues are approached from a completely different angle: open shelves, niches under cabinets, space under the refrigerator and other interesting places are often used for this purpose.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino suggested getting acquainted with unusual ideas that can be implemented in our reality.
Additional places in the bathroom
Bathrooms, according to Europeans, have hidden storage potential. For example, plastic or wicker baskets can be placed on the cistern or under the sink to store various small items.
Another option is to use the free space above the door – an open shelf would fit perfectly here, on which you can lay out towels and other textiles.
And be sure to attach a few hooks to the door so that you can hang clothes or an organizer for small items on them.
Place behind the sofa
The sofa often takes up all the space in the room – owners of small apartments should definitely not put up with this. To make the most of the space, you can organize storage in the sofa itself or under/behind it.
Another option is a shelf behind the back of the sofa, which will create additional storage space. In a small room, such a shelf will become an indispensable assistant: you can place a table lamp, a flower pot, books and a phone charger on it.
Shelf from a window sill
What do you use the windowsill for? Typically, you either put pots with houseplants on it or leave it empty. Stop following stereotypes – use the windowsill for your own needs.
You can make a bookshelf or a dressing table out of it, placing a mirror in this place, a box filled with accessories and organizers in which you store your cosmetics.
