Don't let the fact that the hallway is a non-residential room stop you - you still shouldn't treat it with disdain.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino told how to turn a hallway into a convenient and comfortable room, and not just a storage room for clothes and shoes.
Storage spaces
To keep the hallway tidy, install built-in closed cabinets (for elongated rooms) or corner furniture (for square ones). There should also be open storage systems – a shoe rack, a key rack, etc.
Recreation area
To make it convenient to put on or take off shoes, install a small pouf, bench or choose a shoe rack with a soft seat in the hallway. The pouf usually has a niche under the lid, where you can leave gloves, umbrellas and other small items, and you can put shoes under the bench.
Mirrors
The hallway should definitely have a mirror so that you can assess your appearance before leaving the house. In addition, reflective surfaces visually expand the space.
Light colors
Light shades play the same role as mirrors, that is, they make the room larger, visually expanding it. This design makes the space light, reducing the feeling of pressure. You can use not only white, but also beige, light blue, caramel, peach, powder and other shades.
For the floor, choose a darker shade, as it attracts more dust and dirt.
Housekeeper
Lost keys are incredibly frustrating, especially if you're in a hurry. To avoid stress and save time looking for keys, get a key holder and get into the habit of leaving your keys there.
