After installing a new bathtub or renovating a bathroom, any apartment owner faces a serious challenge: somehow sealing the joint with the wall.

To do this, you can use any of the methods for eliminating the gap between the bathtub and the wall, described by the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", designer Yulia Tychino.

Sealant and mounting foam

For this method, you will need a paste composition. It is possible to use a special sealant or mounting foam. Before starting work, clean and degrease the surface of the joint and the wall, and also protect the tiles by pasting them with masking tape.

If you use mounting foam, you should think about what decorative element you will use to cover it. After 24 hours of application, any excess foam or sealant should be cut off with a knife.

Cement mortar

The next way to eliminate the gap between the bathtub and the wall is to use cement mortar. It is important to choose a material with high resistance to moisture and dampness.

Dilute the mixture to the consistency of thick sour cream. To improve adhesion, the surface of the bath is pre-wetted with water. After applying the solution, it is tamped and left to dry.
