It often happens that recently pasted wallpaper begins to come apart at the joints after some time.
They often come apart especially on unprimed walls, where adhesion is weakest (in relation to other places).
Less often, they may come apart due to unsuitable wallpaper glue or a lack thereof, as well as due to defective wallpaper.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, recommends: before any repairs, the walls should be primed, even if you did it last time.
Priming increases the strength of the substrate and also provides a greater degree of adhesion.
But what to do if the wallpaper has come apart? You can, of course, glue it back with some glue, but the problem will disappear for six months. And then it will come back.
The expert suggests the following solution to the problem.
You should carefully unpatch the wallpaper along the seams, plaster the areas where the plaster has fallen off, and let it dry.
Then apply two coats of primer, wait a day and glue the wallpaper, diluting the wallpaper glue.
If the wallpaper does not fit together (it may dry out), then you should wet it well with wallpaper glue and wait until it gets soaked.
But since many wallpapers stretch well, this will not be necessary.
