Heated towel rails are needed not only to hang towels on them, but also to ensure that the bathroom has a comfortable temperature and does not have high humidity.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, told how to choose the best heated towel rail.
Always consider the following points when purchasing.
Power or coolant
If you decide to choose an electric heated towel rail, find out what power it has to understand whether it will be enough to heat your bathroom. You should start from the calculation of 140 W/sq. m.
If you install a device with a liquid heating element in your bathroom, keep in mind that antifreeze heats up quickly and cools down quickly, while water heats up slowly and cools down just as slowly. As for oil, it heats up faster than water, but slower than antifreeze and gives off heat longer even after the heating element is turned off.
Heating time
It takes about 15 minutes for cable models to warm up, while heated towel rails with a heat carrier require from 15 to 60 minutes, which is undoubtedly convenient if there are many people living in the apartment - everyone will have enough time for water procedures and drying towels.
Temperature control
Since the cable power is usually less than 100W, they simply don't need this option. The same can't be said about powerful devices, as they can heat up to very high values.
Connection method
Everything is logical here: if you choose a heated towel rail with hidden wiring, you cannot do without chasing the walls to lay the wires and connect to the power source. Accordingly, open wiring does not need all of the above.
