Why you can't cover a balcony with clapboard: no one does it anymore

Since many apartments cannot boast impressive dimensions, it is not surprising that their owners try to make the most of the space they have at their disposal, including balconies.

Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino willingly supports such aspirations.

Indeed, instead of turning your balcony into a pile of junk, it is better to turn it into a dressing room, an office, a playroom or even a dining room.

The only condition is that the finishing of this room should be approached with the utmost responsibility.

So, you shouldn’t choose the cheapest material for this purpose – for example, clapboard.

No one argues with the fact that over the years it has enjoyed great popularity due to its qualities such as wear resistance, availability, ease of installation and good thermal insulation.

But the modern consumer has a much more varied choice of finishing materials, and among them, clapboard looks, to put it mildly, outdated.

This material is best used for suburban construction, for example, a summer house.

In addition, over time this material deteriorates – it fades, becomes cracked, and becomes dry, especially if the balcony is located on the sunny side of the building.

Previously we talked about whether it is possible to use red and purple in the interior.
