Not all modern interior design techniques can boast such qualities as practicality and durability.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, told us which solutions are worth using and which ones are better to forget about, so as not to have to spend additional money and time on redoing.

A cabinet that stands close to the wall

Before buying or ordering furniture, carefully consider the layout. If a drawer with hinged doors is placed next to a wall, one of the doors will have a limited amplitude.

Correct height of chairs

If you decide to install a bar counter or a semi-bar island in the kitchen, do not forget to choose chairs that are suitable in height. If you do not take this into account and buy chairs that are too low or too high in relation to the tabletop, they will be uncomfortable to use.

Push to open mechanism

Use this mechanism in the kitchen with caution, as it can accidentally open even from light touches when you brush your hand or foot against the furniture. Therefore, consider choosing a different mechanism for the lower sections of the kitchen.

Illumination of the working area

LED strip lighting is typically installed at the bottom of upper cabinets. If you want good visibility, make sure the lighting is located in the center of the bottom of the cabinets or on the edge that is farthest from the wall, rather than right up against the wall.

Proper washing

An acrylic stone sink is easily scratched and damaged, so designers are confident that there is nothing better than dense stainless steel material.
