Repairs are something inevitable that sooner or later all people have to deal with.

Some approach this process responsibly, receiving comfortable and stylish housing as a result, while others make mistakes, regretting the efforts, time and money spent later. Designer Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, named the most common mistakes that can lead to a waste of time and money.

The floor was not leveled

Before finishing, make sure that the surfaces are perfectly flat. If the curvature of the walls will be hidden by furniture, and the uneven ceiling is not noticeable at all, then the flooring is more difficult.

Just imagine the difficulties you will face if, for example, you lay tiles on an uneven floor in the kitchen, and then order the kitchen - because of the unevenness, the furniture will fit tightly to the flooring, and in the other there will be a gap of 4-5 mm.

We ordered a kitchen made of solid wood

Solid wood is undoubtedly beautiful, but capricious: it shrinks, sometimes continues to shrink in an apartment with temperature changes, cracks and bends.

And cleaning is not easy: the furniture needs to be protected from moisture, and it is not always possible to wipe off stains with a dry cloth. Sun rays are also harmful for a solid wood kitchen.

Didn't think about soundproofing

If you don't take care of soundproofing in advance, your neighbors will have to fall asleep to the sounds of the washing machine, and you will know when they make their morning coffee. Even if the noise doesn't bother you at first, after a few months you will start to hate the sounds of the coffee machine. And if the neighbors upstairs have children, get ready for constant noise and crying.

This is the reason why you shouldn't skimp on soundproofing, so plan the arrangement of the space taking into account noise protection. Install soundproofing around the entire perimeter (floor, ceiling, walls adjacent to neighboring apartments) and arrange the rooms so that sounds do not intersect.
