Greetings from the past: interior solutions that look ridiculous – won’t even qualify as vintage

There are interior items that have no place in a house, even if it is decorated in vintage or loft style.

These are mostly things from the Soviet era. But they don't qualify as antiques or retro-style items.

Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, told us what things have no place in a modern interior.

Horns

Deer antlers were considered the most popular decorative element. They were hung in the hallway or living room. They were a symbol of well-being and prosperity, used instead of a hanger or simply as a wall decoration.

From them and other natural materials, entire compositions were created to decorate the interior.

However, many citizens still believe that reeds do not bring anything good into the house – only negative energy.

Homemade curtains

They were most often hung in the doorway in the kitchen. They were made from paper clips, greeting cards and even corks.

Napkins

Hand-made items are still held in high esteem. But embroidery, according to stylists and designers, somehow does not fit into a modern interior.

Perhaps this is due to the habit of many Soviet citizens to cover televisions, dressers, sideboards and other simple utensils with knitted napkins.

Previously we talked about how to make a closet invisible .
