Insulation of a wooden house is often associated with many questions, and one of them is: “Which thermal insulation material is best to choose?”

The answer to this question was found by the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino .

Among the abundance of materials suitable for insulating a wooden house, which the modern construction market can boast of, the specialist identified three of the most common thermal insulation options.

These include glass wool, mineral wool and extruded or cellular polystyrene foam.

Polystyrene foam boasts excellent thermal insulation properties that surpass those of other options.

In addition, this material almost does not absorb moisture and does not allow water vapor to pass through.

However, when in contact with fire, it melts and releases dangerous gases, so if you choose this option, you must be extremely careful and take additional types of protection.

You may also want to consider using polystyrene foam in areas where it has minimal contact with wood, such as a plinth, base, or foundation.

Mineral wool and glass wool are similar in characteristics and are equally well suited for insulating a wooden house.
