A stretch ceiling, even in its primitive version, is a smooth matte sheet, it is definitely a winning solution, especially in new buildings.
However, one question arises here: should the ceiling be made first or should the walls be wallpapered first?
Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, told how to do the right thing.
Argument: wallpaper first
In this case, the chances of staining or even damaging the ceiling and baseboard are zero.
It is not so easy to wash off wallpaper glue that may accidentally end up on the ceiling, let alone dry out, as it may leave streaks.
Another reason is that when using a knife, you need to be careful not to accidentally leave a cut or scratch on the ceiling.
The case for a ceiling
1. When installing the structure, equipment is used that increases the air temperature in the room to +60 degrees Celsius.
If the wallpaper has been hung recently, it may become deformed. It is better to wait until the glue dries completely.
2. Do not forget about the need to attach a profile, from under which it will be difficult to remove the remains of wallpaper during the next renovation.
3. In addition, when drilling walls and ceilings, finishing materials can become dusty or dirty, which again complicates repairs and subsequent cleaning.
Conclusion
The decision depends on the scale of the renovation, but the second option – installing the ceiling before wallpapering the walls – is considered more flexible, as it allows you to change the wallpaper or paint the walls in the future without any problems.
