If you want to know what things in the apartment take you straight back to the atmosphere of the Soviet Union, you've come to the right place.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, listed interior items that should not be in a house if it claims to be a “stylish apartment” and not a “granny renovation”.
Furniture sets
The idea that a sofa and armchairs, curtains and sofa cushions, a chandelier and wall lamps should be from the same set is hopelessly outdated.
They really do go together, but in this case the apartment becomes predictable and uninteresting.
Instead, try mixing pieces from different brands, countries, and eras, or at least get a variety of sofas and chairs, beds, and nightstands that reflect your personality.
Shelves filled with small items
It used to be fashionable to display various little things and souvenirs on the shelves that brought back pleasant memories and were pleasing to the eye.
But there are also disadvantages: firstly, difficulties in cleaning, and secondly, disharmony in the interior.
There is a solution: leave only a few items that go well together on the shelves, and put the rest in beautiful boxes, baskets or containers.
One small chandelier for the whole room
A chandelier of such a small size will certainly harm the appearance of the room, and it is unlikely to cope with the lighting of the entire room. Your task is to purchase several light sources at once, with the help of which you can organize different lighting scenarios.
Earlier we talked about which tiles to choose for an apartment: small or large.
