Interior designers are cautious about various relics of the past. For example, there is a tendency to introduce Soviet household items into the interior.

It looks interesting and even unique. But the "grandmother's" interiors do not arouse admiration among industry experts. Quite the contrary.

Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, named the main features of such an interior.

There are only three things that can transform a modern and cozy home into something similar.

Covers for upholstered furniture

Covers or bedspreads – it doesn’t matter. Even if they are sewn to size and matched in color, the interior will look cheap.

Yes, such products protect upholstered furniture from damage. The fabric gets dirty less and does not wear out as actively.

But for now, capes are simply not fashionable.

Service and sideboard

In Soviet times, dishes on glass shelves were a decoration and a sign of wealth.

Behind the glass there was crystal, a tea set, and in richer houses, a dining set.

But even with an interest in everything unique that was in the Soviet past, it is not worth reviving this tradition.

Kitchen corner

This invention of the end of the last century is branded on every corner. The corner bench or kitchen nook was practical.

They could be used to hide things that housewives rarely used, but did not consider it necessary to throw away.

Now housewives avoid hoarding and mercilessly part with everything that clutters the kitchen.
