The easiest and most practical way to decorate the walls in a living space is to glue wallpaper.
Fortunately, there is plenty to choose from today. Products are replete with colors, variety of materials, degree of protection and stability. But gluing is not possible everywhere and not always.
Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, told when it is better not to glue wallpaper.
Designers offer alternative solutions every now and then. You can even find advice to wallpaper the bathroom, because there are washable wallpapers.
Where it is better not to glue wallpaper
1. This should definitely not be done in the bathroom, from the words “at all” and “never”.
The reason is not that the wallpaper will get wet. It can actually be washable and resistant to cleaning.
But the reason is that due to high humidity in the bathroom, the wallpaper will cause mold to spread, will constantly peel off, and the air in the room will constantly seem stuffy and musty due to poorly drying walls.
2. Hallway or corridor. These rooms are often called high-traffic areas.
Wallpaper here can constantly get dirty due to outerwear, shoes or moving objects (for example, sports equipment).
3. By the open fire. It's not just the kitchen and the apron near the gas stove.
In old apartments or private houses, you should not wallpaper the walls near fireplaces. They may peel off, turn yellow, and ultimately, it is dangerous.
