How to organize a storage system in a children's room: everything will fit - clothes, books and toys

All owners of a children's room in an apartment have two options: either immediately organize an ideal storage system for things in it, or never look there again.

The expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino , of course, votes for the second option and tells how to conveniently store children's things.

Preparing for storing baby things

The first thing to do, of course, is to sort through all the things, separating those that can still be used from those that should have been thrown in the trash a long time ago – old and unwashable clothes, broken toys, etc.

Those things that you no longer need, but you can’t bring yourself to throw away, can be given away or sold. If you are sure that you will need something in six months or a year (for example, trousers bought for growth or sports equipment), put them on the very top shelves of the closets.

But keep what is used frequently in the most accessible place (don’t forget to take into account the child’s height when choosing the most convenient shelf).

The remaining things in the nursery should be divided into categories: clothes, shoes, books, toys, accessories, crafts, etc.

Within categories, it is also worth sorting, distributing books and toys by age, and clothes and shoes by season. Store things of the same category together - for example, socks with socks, cars with cars, etc.

Useful tips for storing baby things

Now is the time to tell you what will help organize the storage system in the children's room. First of all, these are, of course, cabinets. You can improve them by placing additional hooks on the inside of the door - for belts, accessories, etc.

By the way, it is recommended to store things in closets or chests of drawers vertically - this way, much more clothes or books will fit on the shelf or in the drawer.

To make the most of your small room, use unusual spaces, such as walls to hang pegboards and organizers, or under the bed to install a rolling drawer for linens.

To hide an overloaded storage space, use a curtain. For example, if the room has an open shelving unit with things that don't always get sorted out in time, hang a bright curtain and remove the clutter when it's convenient.

Earlier we talked about a new trend in interior design – floating walls.
