Research conducted in the Netherlands has found that improper lighting can disrupt natural biological processes.
Volunteers aged 40 to 75 were asked to spend two days in a special room.
During the day they had bright lights on, and in the evening (from 8 am to 6 pm) they had dim lights.
There was also an option when the light was dim during the day and bright in the evening.
During this time, the experiment participants ate three times a day.
