In every person’s interior there is a table or a chest of drawers, or other furniture that you never want to part with.

An item may go out of fashion, and in this case, when updating the interior, the question will arise: what to do so that the old and new furniture look harmonious?

Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, told what to do in such situations.

1. The problem can be solved by betting on color.

Old and new furniture should match in color, and then the interior will remain stylish.

You can match the color of the table and sofa or repaint (re-paper) the walls so that the desired color dominates the interior.

2. You can make an accent.

That is, you need to decide what is most important in the interior of the room, and then select other details to match this item.

The main thing is not to turn a room or apartment into a museum by acquiring a set of old things.

3. Common features can be sought not only by age criteria.

The main thing is that the interior items are similar in shape, materials, and color.

Or, on the contrary, you can opt for a contrasting solution to liven up a boring interior.

4. If this is not enough, then you can add some small details to the composition.

You need to try to unite disparate objects with something in common. Home textiles, pillows, carpet, art objects or hobbies can help in this regard.

In any case, one must maintain a sense of proportion and not forget about harmony.

Earlier we told you why it is not recommended to leave the New Year's interior for a long time.
