How to Organize Kitchen Utensils, Food, and Dishes in Kitchen Cabinets: Everything Will Fit and There Will Be Space Left Over

Housewives often complain about small kitchens, saying that due to the insufficient number of square meters they are constantly in disarray.

In reality, everything depends not on the size of the kitchen, but on the organization of the space.

Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, told how to make sure that everything fits in the kitchen and there is still some free space.

The point is not so much that the furniture set needs to be ordered according to individual drawings, but rather about organizing the space.

Where to start

You need to divide the space: leave an area for cooking, for storing utensils and items needed for setting the table.

In each case, you need to leave only those items that are used in cooking, and not what kitchen sets come with.

Organizers for storing pot and pan lids, magnetic knife holders, organizers for cleaning accessories, and hanging shelves for spices will also come in handy.

Order in the closets

It has long been noted that the lower tier should be planned in such a way that it has more drawers, rather than hinged cabinets. It is the latter method that is considered the most inconvenient for storing things.

You can store pots and pans, containers for various products in pull-out drawers, and for jars of cereals and other groceries it is easier to provide a pull-out cargo shelf.

The storage compartment for dishes should be placed closer to the sink and dishwasher.

Be sure to provide a drying rack for dishes, cups and other utensils, otherwise there will never be order.

Food storage

A small thing, but it is better to buy transparent jars for cereals. Housewives do not always follow the inscriptions, but more often take what they see in the container. Storage containers should be square or rectangular, but round.

The less frequently an ingredient is used, the further away from the cooking area it can be placed. Everything else should be within reach, but hidden from view.

Products that are bought in bulk and in large quantities are best stored on the lower shelves.

It is better to put containers with vegetable oil and other liquids on the lower shelves of the cabinet - if they suddenly leak, they will not stain the kitchen or spoil the dry products lying nearby or below.
