Choosing a color scheme for a small one-room apartment is not an easy task.

In such a limited space, it is important to use color wisely to visually expand the room and make the interior as comfortable as possible.

Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, told how to choose a color scheme for a one-room apartment.

First of all, you should determine the main style of the interior. If minimalism or loft is planned, it is better to choose a neutral color scheme - shades of white, gray, beige.

This will visually expand the space. For Scandinavian or classic style, soft blue and mint shades are also suitable.

If the interior is designed in a bright ethnic style, you can safely include contrasting and saturated colors - terracotta, green, blue. The main thing is to monitor the color balance and not overdo it with bright shades, so as not to "crush" the small space.

The main surfaces - walls, floor, ceiling - are best decorated in light colors. A dark floor or ceiling will visually "lower" and narrow the room. Light walls can be diluted with accent walls in more saturated colors.

As for individual areas of the apartment, it is better to decorate the bedroom in calm, neutral tones - beige, soft green, blue.

This will create a relaxing atmosphere.

The living room can be made a little brighter with textiles and decor. All colors are appropriate here - from warm terracotta to turquoise.

The main rule is to maintain a balance between calm and bright elements.

In the kitchen, it is better to use light colors, which visually increase the space, and neutral shades, such as beige or gray.

They will make the kitchen practical and cozy. Shades of red, yellow, and green are suitable for accents.

Light colors are optimal for the bathroom - white, beige, soft blue, gray-blue. Dark colors will visually reduce and darken the bathroom. Bright colors are also better to exclude, so as not to overload the small space.

It is better to paint the doors in the same tones as the walls of the rooms. This will visually expand the room. White, light gray, beige are suitable for the doors to the kitchen and bathroom.

When choosing a color for the floor, light shades of natural wood, beige, gray, white are optimal. A dark floor can visually "flatten" the room.

To add color, use textiles - curtains, carpets, bedspreads, pillows. These are easily changeable accents that allow you to liven up the interior. Bright and contrasting combinations are appropriate in a one-room apartment.

You can also divide the space with color. If you highlight the kitchen-living room and bedroom area, they can be decorated in different color schemes. For example, the bedroom in calm tones, and the living room in brighter ones.

The main rules for choosing a color in a small apartment:

1. Use light colors for the main surfaces.

2. Include bright accents in textiles and decor, but keep an eye on the color balance.

3. Separate zones with different colors.

4. Avoid dark and saturated tones that visually “crush” the space.

By following these principles and experimenting with color, you can create a stylish and harmonious interior even in a small apartment.
