New residents are most often dissatisfied with long and narrow corridors or similar living rooms, as well as low ceilings.
All these problems can be solved, but not through redevelopment, but through the competent management of available space and interior design solutions.
Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, spoke about techniques that visually increase space.
Technique one: mirrors
This is one of the most effective ways to "push" the walls apart. Suitable for living rooms, cramped hallways and dark narrow corridors.
In addition to the fact that mirror panels make rooms more spacious, they also add light.
It is common practice to install built-in furniture with mirrored facades, and in dark rooms, lighting problems are often solved by using a mirrored ceiling.
Method two: ceiling
The simplest options are to use a ceiling cornice. Due to the correctly chosen color, such a trinket can “raise” the ceiling by several centimeters.
Another way is to use baseboards on the floor in the same color as the walls.
Wallpaper with a vertical pattern will be a wonderful addition to any of the options.
Method three: floor covering
In a narrow and long corridor, as well as in an elongated living room, the floor covering, be it laminate or parquet board, should be laid perpendicular to the elongated walls.
You can also divide the space into several zones using ceiling lights.
Previously, we talked about which interior design solutions turn out to be inconvenient for living.
