Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, told how to properly hang paintings in a house or apartment.
First, at eye level
It is clear that everyone has their own level, but the gold standard recommends measuring 150-160 cm from the floor to the center of the painting.
If you plan to hang several canvases, then hang the central composition at this distance, and then distribute the rest.
Secondly, the size of the painting
It is not recommended to hang large paintings in small and cramped rooms.
They will look heavy and overload the space.
Thirdly, harmony
A painting or photo in a frame will fit into the overall space if the shapes of the objects next to it are taken into account.
If you hang a picture above a tall and narrow cabinet, a vertical canvas will look better, and above a wide object, a horizontal image.
