The living room can be made as comfortable as possible with the help of lighting. Designers recommend carefully selecting lamps and creating several levels of lighting.
In this case, every detail will be important, from the lighting standard to the style and dimensions of the lamp.
Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, told how to choose a lamp for the living room.
1. Lighting standards
The starting point is the area of the room. There should be approximately 20 W (incandescent lamp) per square meter. Then you need to multiply the area by the lighting standard and divide by the lamp power.
For a room of 17 square meters you will need 5-6 light bulbs.
2. Lighting groups
A ceiling chandelier can illuminate the entire room or the main part. Groups can be for a work place, decorative lighting, a separate zone.
And the lighting can also be evening or night.
3. Temperature
Light sources are 3000K, 4000K and 6500. The first option is popularly called warm light - close to an incandescent lamp and the most comfortable for human eyes. The second is neutral and the last is cold white - the brightest.
4. Appearance
Here you need to proceed from the interior style, color, furniture, decor, material and personal preferences.
5. Size of the lamp
It makes no sense to choose a small ceiling lamp for a spacious room. When choosing a floor lamp or sconce, you need to consider the size of the lampshade and the functionality of the model.
