Curtains can be considered one of the fastest ways to transform an interior.
However, it is not always possible to choose canvases that would suit your interior the first time, regretfully notes Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti.
The specialist shared some tips on what to focus on so that the curtains don’t sweep the floor and at the same time don’t look “shot.”
So, in order to decide what length curtains you need, the first thing you need to do is take some measurements.
Measure the distance (now carefully) not from the edge of the window, but from the cornice to the position of the curtains at the bottom that you have planned for yourself.
So, if you want the textile to reach the window sill, its bottom edge should be 1 cm higher.
If it is important for you that the curtains are a little longer, add another 10-15 cm - at this distance they should hang below the window sill.
If you need long curtains, make sure that they do not reach the floor by 1 cm, or better yet, 5 cm: this way, this interior element will wear out more slowly.
