Why You Shouldn't Move Your Bed Close to the Wall: You'll Definitely Get Tortured

Renovation, like wine, has an aftertaste, and sometimes it’s not the most pleasant one – for example, when over time the joy of change turns into annoyance. The reason, of course, is in the design techniques used, or rather in the inconvenience that arose due to their fault.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino , spoke about one of such unsuccessful interior design solutions – a bed pushed close to the wall.

Let's make it clear right away: approaching from one side of the bed is acceptable only when the bedroom is very small and only one person lives in the apartment.

If any of these requirements are violated, don’t expect comfort.

Just imagine: in order to get out of bed, the person at the wall will have to “climb” over his partner every time, thereby causing discomfort to both himself and his partner.

The disadvantages do not end there: with this arrangement of the bed, you can only put one bedside table, which is unlikely to suit both residents.

Difficulties will arise even when performing such a simple operation as changing bed linen: you will definitely have a hard time with the sheets.

Therefore, we wholeheartedly advise you to make approaches from both sides, even if they are small. 20 cm will be enough for you to get out of bed without any obstacles, and a full-fledged bedside table can be replaced with a hanging shelf.
