To separate the office from the rest of the room, you can zone the space using a screen.
There is another option that will appeal to those who are looking for a more fundamental solution - using a partition made of plasterboard or tinted glass.
Furniture is also of no small importance: both the table and the work chair must meet the requirements of comfort, so test them thoroughly in the showroom.
Another important point: quality lighting, which is necessary both for writing and for working on a computer, and it is better if it is cold.
By the way, if you place the work area near the window, the lighting issue will be partially resolved – at least during the daytime.
Finally, you will have to take care of the shelves on which you can place office supplies and other necessary things. At this point, perhaps, the issue of arranging a work area in the living room can be considered closed.
