What color to choose for decorating a tiny "Khrushchevka" to make it seem bigger: white is not your option

Many owners of "Khrushchev-era" apartments are racking their brains over how to make a comfortable place to live out of several tiny rooms.

For this, for example, you can demolish a wall, but there is another, much easier way, says designer Yulia Tychino , an expert at the online publication BelNovosti. It consists of choosing a suitable color scheme.

What colors can make an apartment look visually larger?

These are, of course, light shades, and not necessarily white or beige, but also mint, light gray, powdery, soft blue, lavender.

The final choice depends on your personal preference.

The main thing when decorating an apartment is not to cross the fine line that separates a stylish, light interior from a room in the style of a hospital ward.

We won’t argue – the snow-white space really does look much larger than it actually is, but it also has a number of significant disadvantages.

Firstly, you are unlikely to feel comfortable in such an environment, and secondly, if the rooms are flooded with sunlight every day, such a “snowy” apartment will be blinding in the truest sense of the word. And the need for regular cleaning is unlikely to please you.

If you can’t overcome your craving for white, think about using its shades: pearl, milky, creamy, ivory and others.
