Not all apartment owners who are planning to renovate their homes like the idea of using monochrome: many apartment owners love bright colors and do not want to give up their preferences.

However, designer Yulia Tychino, an expert at the online publication BelNovosti, warns: don’t try to use all the colors of the rainbow in one room at once.

It is definitely not possible to feel cozy and comfortable in such a room.

Instead, try to stick to the 60-30-10 ratio, where the largest number 60 denotes the main shade in which the walls, floor and ceiling should be decorated, the number 30 is used for an additional shade for textiles and furniture, and finally 10 is used to indicate the accent color in which the decor and accessories should be made.

We hope you got it right - the optimal combination consists of three colors.

And here is the promised cheat sheet on combining different shades.

  • Beige + shades of blue.
  • White, beige and yellow.
  • Dark blue + coffee, light blue, tomato red, brown.
  • Lilac + olive, purple, champagne.
  • Pink + shades of gray, olive, sky blue, blue.
  • Red + snow white, charcoal, graphite, ultramarine.

Finally, we note: in order to avoid creating dissonance, you should not mix cold and warm shades.
