Entrance doors usually open outward.
But interior doors (with rare exceptions) should open inward.
Compliance with this rule is important for comfortable living in the apartment.
This was reported by Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior.
Why should an interior door open inwards?
To be more precise, the rule should sound like this: “The door should open towards a more spacious room.”
In other words, if we are talking about the border between a narrow corridor and a large living room, then the door should open towards the second room.
This needs to be achieved so that a person does not encounter a serious problem when opening the door.
Agree, there is nothing good if the door leaf appears in a cramped room, in which there is already little space.
It is much more convenient when the door is directed to where there is enough free space.
An exception to the rule
The door to the toilet and bathroom must open outward.
And this is quite understandable: there is usually little space in the bathroom. Most likely, the corridor towards which the door leaf is directed is much more spacious.
The door to a storage room or any other small room should also open outward.
