Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, told what should be avoided when arranging furniture.
One of the common mistakes is large furniture placed next to the window.
When planning the placement of furniture, do not forget about the rule that states that the window should remain untouched, because it is from it that a stream of light comes, which must reach every part of the room.
If you place a bulky cabinet in its path or partially block the window opening with a shelving unit placed too close, a shadow will be created or, even worse, access to sunlight will be blocked.
If you are renovating and therefore arranging furniture in the summer, this problem may not be as noticeable.
However, with the onset of winter with its short days, you will certainly feel all the inconveniences caused by such an arrangement option.
Instead, you should find a place for large furniture in the back of the room. Small interior items are allowed to be placed near the window.
Only in this case you will be able to prevent darkening of the walls and formation of gloomy corners in the room. On the contrary, enough light will enter the bedroom or living room to make you feel cozy.
