An expert from the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino , helped to correct this error.
According to the expert, there are 3 rules for the correct arrangement of furniture on the carpet.
You can use any of them. As a result, the room proportions will not be violated.
So, the first option is to place the furniture on the carpet in such a way that the distance from the edge of the objects to the end of the carpet is at least 30 cm.
You can leave the flooring “untouched” altogether, that is, place furniture not on the carpet, but around or along it.
True, in this case there is one but: this solution should not be used if your carpet is too small. Otherwise, the room will feel chaotic.
Finally, adherents of the third method arrange sofas, armchairs and other "utensils" in such a way that only the front legs stand on the carpet. This option is the best option if you are faced with the task of visually combining several items into a single group, for example, an armchair, a coffee table and a floor lamp.
